The first pass of results from the Trent Park Sunday League race are available and confirm what we hoped and expected. It was the usual course to the north of the Pineapple with one or two small changes to allow for new features in the park. Ground conditions were perfect and lent themselves to almost any choice of footwear.

We had 56 (38 men and 18 women) running which is amazing when you consider there were many more volunteering and a significant number of other races taking place. Every one of those 56 did a great job and showed the other clubs how to run those Trent Park hills.

The race was headed by our very own Charlie Bruce and the rest of the men packed well behind him. The rest of the scoring team were Ben Halstead, Ben Allen, Andy Naylor, Will Rowley, Dave Kunzmann, Luke Barker and Scott Aiken. Unusually we had quite a few non-vets up the front so our vet team was made up of Charlie, Andy, Scott and Francis Mannion. Although final league places are not yet officially available our own statos are sure that we have won both the A competition and the Vets,

The women were without Jen and Alex Baird who were our first 2 finishers last week and this week were off half marathoning. We went into Sunday’s race thinking our chances of an outright win were slight but from an early look we may have done just that. Our scoring team was Anja Greenwood, Kat Alpe, Beata Falkowska, Anna Sikorska and Theodosia Green. As all of this team are Vets we will also won the Vets competition with Anja, Kat and Beata were the scorers. I would like to give a shout out for all the women who ran but there are just too many which shows what a fantastic turnout we had.

Well done to everyone who took part whether running, volunteering or taking on any of the other tasks that make this race the brilliant success it was.
