Mens Team Race report
We turned up at Stanborough Park on Saturday 11th January in a very heavy frost with very sloid ground and even some ice patches around the course and believing there would be no thawing as the afternoon progressed. This proved not to be the case and it became quite claggy for the men’s race. The turnout was probably the best we have had this season so we were quite optimistic about getting a better result than recent races. This proved not to be the case in spite of some great runs by all of our men and we finished bottom of division 1 on the day and now sit bottom for the season and don’t have much chance of changing that in the last race in spite of that final race being on home ground at Trent Park.
The Vet team performed better finishing 5th on the day and sit comfortably in mid table at 10th for the season.
Our scorers for the A team were Andy Naylor, Ben Allen, Jim Arrowsmith, Matt Hogsden, Dave Kunzmann, Will Rowley, Francis Mannion, Robert Sikorski, Carl Redondo, Nathaniel Sampson, John Rose and Luke Bowie. For the Vets the scorers were Andy, Jim, Francis, Robert, Carl and John. We had 5 other runners who all did a great job, they were Stuart Manktelow, Matt Bannon, Jason Lawson, Robin Tremaine and Eamonn Cullen.
Full results can be seen on the met League website and photos are up on our Photo Gallery. We need to get the strongest team possible out for the last race in Trent Park even if it is a lost cause. We need to get something positive from this season and give ourselves some confidence to go into next season.

Ladies Team Race Report
Well done to everyone who ran on Saturday’s Met League race in Welwyn, it is hard to get a team out for the Saturday afternoon races in this league so thanks to everyone who made it. The temperature was freezing but actually quite nice to run in, until the very end when they set the men off before the ladies had finished as it was a narrow course.
Well done to all who ran, all put in a strong performance on the slippery mud. Special well done to Nikki who stepped up to ensure we had a scoring team and ran her first Met League race. Also big thanks to Anja who wasn’t meant to run but who did so anyway to help us out!
