Both of the outstanding races take place over the weekend of 11th and 12th March but with the Relays on Saturday and each runner only undertakes a leg of 2 miles on flat ground there should be no issues over a double header weekend.

Chingford League Relays Wanstead Flats Saturday 11th March 2023
The Chingford League season comes to a conclusion with the traditional Relays taking place at Wanstead Flats E11 3QA. The race begins at 11:30 am with all leg 1 runners setting off together. There can be parking problems so think about car sharing, public transport or parking in local streets. This is something that all of our runners would enjoy. Please think about running it. Teams will be sorted out on race morning. Please let us know you will be coming by signing up on Coacha or letting Scott, Anja, Emily C or Chas know.

After the Relays finish there will be presentations for both team and individual trophies and although we are unlikely to pick up a team trophy we will have Alessio, Scott and Kat picking up trophies. Make sure you are there to give them a big cheer.

Sunday League Royston Sunday 12th March 2023
The 4th and, what is now, the final race of the season takes place at Royston on Sunday 12th March at 10:30 am. This is the rescheduled race which should have taken place on Sunday 15th January. It is basically the same location etc as in previous years and takes place at the Heath Sports Club Royston. The best postcode is SG8 5BJ. Full information with course map is up on the Club website. The race distance is approx. 5 miles.

As this makes only 4 races instead of the usual and planned 5 we have checked on the plans for trophies. Trophies will be awarded this year for both individuals and teams. Individual trophies will be awarded for results in all 4 races so there is no opportunity to drop your worst one and you also have to run all 4 races. Team results will be based on all 4. We have a number of people in a good position to pick up trophies. Team trophies are looking good for the women but the guys will need some odd results to pick anything up. Trophies will not be presented on the day as in previous years, they will be handed out at the League AGM but I am sure we will make a fuss of the relevant winners when appropriate.

I hope we get a brilliant turnout for the Royston race and enjoy an outstanding course.
