Well done to all those club members who took on marathons over the weekend. We had some fantastic results and I hope you are all incredibly proud of yourselves.

This week we have use of the track on Tuesday. The mixed abilities session will meet as usual at 19:10 for a group warm up.

The main session will be 12x 400m, aiming for 5K pace with 75 seconds recovery.
The aim of this session is to maintain speed and stamina as the body fatigues. A short recovery means the reps – though relatively short – will feel tough, so the focus will be on maintaining good form to complete the final rep at the same pace as the first one.

On Thursday we will meet at 19:00 at SHC for club notices and announcements. As usual, there will be various road runs on offer, all offering some tempo work at different paces. Getting used to running at a tempo/threshold pace (hard but sustainable) is really useful in building endurance over longer distances.
