HMRC has now responded to our application to register as a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC).

In order for HMRC to proceed with the registration they have asked us to amend Clause 3 (Object) and Clause 4 (Club Equity Statement) of our Constitution. Any constitutional changes must be approved at an Annual General Meeting (AGM) or a Special General Meeting (SGM). Therefore, we are holding a Virtual SGM on Monday 22nd May 2023 at 7:30 pm and the registration link for this is below.

The motions to be approved at the SGM are:-

1. Revise Clause 3, Object, to include triathlon as we offer a swimming-only membership (suggested revised wording below)
2. Revise Clause 4, Club Equity Statement (suggested revised wording below)
3. Delegate authority to the committee to make further changes to the constitution, policies and supporting documents to ensure compliance with the CASC applications.

The above wording and constitution are subject to change as the finer details are being discussed with HMRC

The proposed changes require approval by a minimum of two-thirds of the members present. Abstentions shall be disregarded from the calculation.

The Motion and Constitution will also be displayed on the Club Noticeboard at least seven days prior to the SGM.
