Trent Park Running Club (TPRC) are holding a Special General Meeting (SGM) to agree on changes to the Club’s constitution that will enable us to register as a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC).
HMRC are starting to investigate the tax liabilities of a wide range of sports clubs. Your committee has therefore considered a number of options to address this and recommends that Trent Park Running Club applies to register as a CASC, as a number of our neighbouring clubs have done.
The benefits and conditions of registration are outlined in the motion which can be found in the documents link below.
CASC registration requires changes to our Constitution and Payments Policy to comply with HMRC standards. The changes are shown in the Motion. In addition, the proposed changes to the two documents can be seen via the link below.
View DocumentsThe Special General Meeting (SGM) is being called to approve these Governing Document changes and will be held on Monday the 27th February 2023 at 7:30 pm.
Please note you will have the option to attend either in person at Southgate Hockey Centre (in the committee room downstairs) or virtually.
The proposed changes require approval by a minimum of two-thirds of the members present. Abstentions shall be disregarded from the calculation.
The Motion, Constitution and Payments Policy will also be displayed on the Club Noticeboard at least seven days prior to the SGM.
If you wish to attend virtually you will need to register prior to the meeting, which you can do via the link below. If you are planning to attend in person, there is no need to register to attend virtually.
